We are mamas and birth workers who decided to do birth differently– and bring others along with us. We are kind, fun to work with, and great at (lovingly) calling people on their bullshit when necessary. With 11 children and 16 years of midwifery between us, we’ve learned a thing or two along the way, and Indie Birth is our space to share it all with you.

This sounds really boring, but I promise you that it is quick, and fun! I wanted to record this for all the mamas and students that are constantly wondering about fundal height; and maybe stressing about the measurement or just wanting more information about this in general. Let us know what questions you have, and if you enjoy this first of a possible clinical series.

  1. Absolutely loved this one! Such a fascinating topic (I think!) and so many things that could potentially send a mother or a midwife or other birth worker down the rabbit hole… I love that the message is more like: feel for all the uterus, not just the fundus (top)! Also, let’s take everything into consideration as we are taught in the beautiful wise woman model. Thank you, Maryn, for another great podcast!

Thank you very much for this very helpful podcast!
