I’m coming out of birth "retirement" and starting a doula practice.
Yep, you read that right.

Not in theory. In real life. In a new place (Tucson), in a new way (without midwifery), and with a fully refreshed lens on this work.

I have gotten so much space from this work now. It has been two years since I was at a birth, and any lingering grips of the "old way" have loosened.

I’m choosing to offer grounded, wise, trauma-informed, sovereignty-centered support in a way that fits my life now. The universe keeps showing me, again and again, how needed my medicine is in the world. And now, I finally have a way to share it that feels good and right.

I’m an old dog learning (inventing?) some new tricks. And my life has settled in ways that make the reality of being on-call an option again (at least in a limited way).

As I prepared to take this step, I connected some other dots, too:

We are mamas and midwives who decided to do birth differently– and bring others along with us.
