We're Maryn + Margo

We are mamas and birth workers who decided to do birth differently– and bring others along with us. We are kind, fun to work with, and great at (lovingly) calling people on their bullshit. With 12 children and 20 years of midwifery between us, we’ve learned a thing or two along the way, and Indie Birth is our space to share it all with you.

He’s the only doctor to be on my podcast twice…what an honor! For me, I mean.

Listen in on this “Midwife and doctor” conversation (how often do we imagine THAT conversation happening?!) as we talk about:

  • Shame and blame…
  • How we can help create balance in the birth world
  • How much work there is to do and where that starts!

And more. I love that I can call this guy a friend and that we can have honest conversations together about where we’re coming from.

  1. Rebecca Rambo says:

I’d like to hear a bit about:
-when low-risk becomes moderate or high risk and how an OBGYN can still allow the woman to be central in her spiral of birthing
-and for the women who have “done the work” but end up in the hands of modern medicine because that’s what their intuition leads them to, how can we cultivate a space of non-judgement and respectful support from the medical staff
-as an OBGYN, do you have any ideas for how you can become the norm of maternity care, rather than the exception?

    Good chat, you two! Thanks

  2. Maryn Green says:

I’ll pass it on! Thanks Rebecca.
