On this podcast, I talked with Nathan Riley, OB/GYN; after finding Nathan’s podcast, I was inspired to contact him because he seemed like not-your-typical-OB. I was right! Tune in as we chat about his own training, the state of birth and obstetrics and what’s most important as we serve women and families in this work.
It was a pleasure meeting him and we look forward to some more collaborations in the future!

Wow, Maryn. Thank you for this podcast. I am very happy to have had the time to sit and listen to this straight through. What a gold nugget you have stumbled upon. A BADASS OB!
And to the phenomenal Doctor Nathan Riley, THANK YOU. Your wisdom and compassion is very refreshing. I have had the privilege of working with a few wonderful OBs who have been able to win me over – but the majority are going through this “burnout” you speak of and it’s very apparent in my experience. I feel for the many medical providers who are removed from that very important and sensitive human connection and physiology of birth by the need to watch the numbers, charts, and machines ect… and to be a “good physician.”
We really desperately need more physicians like you. Maybe you should be training the next generation of OBs. You and Stu! Things would be wildly and positively different.
This was a great podcast. Thank you both so much.
