We're Maryn + Margo

We are mamas and birth workers who decided to do birth differently– and bring others along with us. We are kind, fun to work with, and great at (lovingly) calling people on their bullshit. With 12 children and 20 years of midwifery between us, we’ve learned a thing or two along the way, and Indie Birth is our space to share it all with you.

Amina is an Algerian native, currently living in Egypt with her husband and two daughters, Maryam and Leila. A lover of home births and breastfeeding, Amina volunteers most of her time helping and consulting mothers on breastfeeding via social media. Her message to women is to trust their bodies and know that birth can be a spiritual experience if you believe that it can be so.

Please note that throughout the podcast, you will hear Amina refer to a woman named “Marlene.” Who she is referring to is, in fact, Maryn Green. Amina would like to thank Maryn, Margo, and the whole Indie Birth network for their support and vast educational resources, and also to Annie Roo, a doula and former guest on the “Birth Warrior Podcast,” for her guidance and virtual support in Amina’s last pregnancy.
