We are mamas and birth workers who decided to do birth differently– and bring others along with us. We are kind, fun to work with, and great at (lovingly) calling people on their bullshit. With 12 children and 20 years of midwifery between us, we’ve learned a thing or two along the way, and Indie Birth is our space to share it all with you.

  1. Amanda says:

“Autonomous birth is a journey, a beautiful owning of the entire experience not just the birth.”

So true! 2 years ago when I found Indie Birth, I was in my first trimester and planning on a few checkups, ultra sounds, and a birthing center birth. Throughout listening to this podcast and being involved in the free birth community I decided to go zero ultrasounds, then decided to give up the birth center, then at 30 weeks became finally sold with unassisted. Had a beautiful baby, easy birth at home with just me and my partner. And a girl to boot! So thankful I didn’t do ultrasounds on her eggs so that the next generation is protected and starting from zero birth trauma.

You are changing lives, Maryn. The flow may shift and wax and wane but you are always changing lives and helping women inch closer to making more autonomous, informed, responsible choices.

    Goddess bless you

  2. Maryn Green says:

Aw thanks Amanda! Goddess bless YOU for birthing consciously and changing the world in that way.
Each birth matters; each showing of our autonomy paves way for the next.

    Love, Maryn

  3. Tracey Petersen says:

    Dear Maryn,
You are planting a seed, that in time (perhaps not on yours or my timeline) will bear fruit. Just by showing another way, dots are being connected ♡
