Fantastic podcast on Merconium, cleared up a lot of questions I had. Actually I love all your podcasts, you are an ongoing education series for all women. I am a 61 year old woman, and have been a doula for 7 years. I believe in Undisturbed birth, so I heed the words of Michel Odent, to sit in the corner knitting. I don’t knit, have I Pad, and find this works well. I am and have been a nurse for 36 years,so it has been a learning curve for me to learn to not do anything at a birth. So I see that with midwives, they are trained to Do – this is because their training is not wholistic. My doula training was at the International College of Spiritual Midwifery. I love my calling. Recently attended my first Lotus Birth – home waterbirth. 4th baby, older sibs present. It was bliss. 6 days to lotus. Then ritual burial of the placenta and a nearby tree made into The Wishing Tree where we all tied ribbons and made our wishes for the new babe. Still blessed out over it 6 weeks ago now. Thankyou so much, you are a true inspiration. I’m never to old to learn more. Blessings from Sandy.

Thank you for this podcast, I’m loving every one I listen to. I have 4 children, all unhindered births at home. With my 4th, 16 months ago now, she released meconium. Thin, greenish waters were present, it did make me feel panicked for a minute because what I knew was that it was a “bad sign”. My husband reassured me all was going to be fine, which helped me connect again and I knew my baby was ok. I did feel like I needed to get her out though, not that I had the power to do that, but what if……. She was coming in at 42 weeks, my first went that long as well but no meconium. Well, she was born a couple hours later, perfectly healthy and remains perfectly healthy. I frequently think back on it and am always so glad I was in the safety of my home. This podcast shed some light on this situation, so important to have this knowledge.
