Meet the duo behind Indie Birth
We are mamas and midwives who decided to do birth differently– and bring others along with us. We are radical, fun to work with, and great at (lovingly) calling people on their bullshit to help move us all towards a new more beautiful world. With 12 children and over two decades of midwifery between us, we’ve learned a thing or two along the way, and Indie Birth is our space to share it all with you.

I love all of your podcasts and have been listening throughout my pregnancy. I just realized that there are more beyond your pregnancy (babybrain anyone? Lol) and now I’m listening more often. Thank you for all of the wonderful and empowering information that you share!
I am wondering if you have anymore info on the herbal sitz bath or what herbs you’d recommend to make my own?
Hi Emily!
Sure, there are many herbs used for sitz baths. Some of the ones I like are comfrey, lavender, rosemary, chamomile and rose. Basically anything soothing, and maybe an antibacterial herb; also, adding sea salt and garlic can be great too!
Thanks, Maryn!! I will definitely be trying out the herbal bath 🙂
