It’s been said that women get into birth work because they care about women, babies or birth; one usually more than the other! I reflect back on my path so far and how I got called to midwifery, and also how my “why” has changed and shifted over the years doing this work. What is your “why”?

My call into midwifery was much earlier i could get it, when I was 7 years old and I asisted the birth of a cow (whom i was in love since she was pregnant, and i knew she was on labor because i suddently felt it) in my ancesters land…
Years happened, until after the postpartum of my 1st child, 10years ago, while walking wild in nature, I received a revelation from the sky that changed my life forever. My devotion to CARE for births. I was 21 years old, when the red rug opened under my feet… Since then my path is sheltered under the blessing of births.
Too much magic to be told in words, what happened when I recognized my gift. The pleasure of feeling the power of nature that inhabits us, especially when we allow ourselves to connect with the wild, as profound as inevitable, as simple… And we let ourselves be carried away by the force of life that unites us all. Beyond our appearance or status, who has not been born, who will not die? It is a memory that unites us in eternity.
What happens when we allow ourselves to connect with these sources of life? What happens when don’t? THAT’S MY WHY!!!
I am a witness to seeing love grow when we recognize our own truth and allow it to be… When a mother carries her newborn baby on her lap in full ecstasy, after giving birth in her plenitude.
In the same way, I am a witness of seeing pain grow when we disconnect from it. Especially for a corrupt system, that manipulates us and plays the illusion of having the control of our life. Using fear to have the lie in its favor, as law.
“You will give birth in pain!”… And we will make sure of it!!!
Because I offer myself to remember, keep and share the memory of the wisdom of all times. Eternal and indestructible.
Infinite grateful to Maryn and Margo for keeping this sacred space!
