Interesting! I live in Sweden and here health care is (almost) free. Nevertheless this was eye-opening and empowering. Especially the thing about RESPONSIBILITY!

But it really is not free! Around here, anyway, people pay A LOT of money for their health insurance. I’m not sure why anyone would think it’s free? What rubs me the wrong way is that it is a lot like gambling: the company is taking your money and hoping you won’t need much care, and we are giving it to them on the chance that something catastrophic might happen. I just hate the whole scene. I think if we could do away with all medical insurance (to include malpractice), our system might be a little more sane.
As a family, we have insurance and like you say, the belief that it is good to have definitely demands spending lots of money on various insurance. I personally would like to break away, but I surely don’t have a spouse with the same viewpoint. Thanks for sharing your viewpoint.
Yeah! I am not an expert on insurance; but many of the people I come into contact with (I think the last was maybe former military?!) really did not have to invest anything or much if they wanted that care. But we are agreed anyhow, and I thank you for listening and maybe one day we will create this change.
I certainly feel that Insurance is a mindset of expecting/planning for misfortune. It is a social conditioning that has pronounced those of us who Trust In Our Own Knowing & Truth, to be often scorned as irresponsible or cash broke & can’t afford to purchase insurance.
