I believe that the most profound reason for pregnancy is to prepare the woman to mother THIS soul and to shift, change and transform her in the process.

Pregnancy is not just a physical process; I believe that our cells reorganize on a cosmic level, and that our ancestors are listening. All of the Stars above and the lives that have come before us in our lineage our woven into this creation; both of this baby and of this woman.

Where do babies come from, really? The answer feels like a complex choice of the sky above, other realities and dimensions. I see that babies who are incarnating nowadays have been even more deliberate and intentional; with their choice of mothers, and their choice of life circumstances and birth experiences. They are demanding that their mothers be more aligned, more conscious and more deliberate.

After 22 years of being in birth, I still cannot make intellectual sense of it. And I love that and embrace it as much as I can. I don’t really get it, how one human can grow another. Because of this mystery, I Know there must be even more that eludes us. As a new soul is conceived and forming, what are all the changes and shifts in energy that are happening? I know there is no way to quantify them so I just wonder. This wonder and awe is with me, has been with me through my 10 pregnancies and continues to be with me as I serve women during this time and beyond.

It never gets old. For me. Each woman that I am honored to sit with to support during this time baffles me, surprises me and teaches me. There is so much to take in and to SEE in her during this time. It isn’t boring; it isn’t a quick process or a process full of cookie cutter approaches or questions or clinical skills. Every pregnancy I support feels completely unique to me, and I walk into it as open and willing to see what I need to see, to feel what I need to feel, and to reflect what’s shown to me back to this woman.

There is so much to learn, practice, and discover about the pregnancy time and how, in this New Earth, we can support women walking this path. It is not what it was even 10 years ago, and we are being asked to not only “know” more but to be more open to the teachings that are coming through both us and these magical women.

Feeling this way is just one reason of many that I have moved away from only claiming the “midwife” role; to me, that is not rich enough for the support that is being asked for. And I am here to take in new ways, new information and to create a community for pregnancy care; this includes the mamas AND the women that support them during this amazing, initiation.

In 2024, I will be leading once-a-month pregnancy care circles that will bring in all aspects of pregnancy; from clinical care to having tough conversations to working with our ancestors and more. There is no limit to where this will go, and I can see this support network growing fast and quick since ultimately it feels to me like the baby souls are orchestrating all this:)
