A Webinar with Barbara Harper
February 12th, 2pm Central Time
About the Online Class:
Barbara Harper will take you through the benefits of waterbirth as part of a gentle birth approach to maternity care, and what happens in the brain and the hormones as a response to water immersion. She will discuss why giving birth in the water is easier, safer and how to prevent complications. Barbara gets excited about the latest research on waterbirth, which proves that it’s actually better for babies. She addresses typical contraindications and how to make water immersion available in hospitals. Waterbirth facilitates skin to skin and respects newborn transitional physiology, which includes leaving the cord intact to increase the function of the new lungs.
